A Delightful Licensed Cafe in Beautiful Gardens

The Waihi Waterlily Gardens cafe, with ample indoor and outdoor dining, is the first point of pass after an expansive formal front lawn, also home to a giant Chess board. A central point of the property to begin a garden stroll, the cafe offers garden visitors and accommodation guests more than a refreshing drink! Fully licensed, the best of local wines and popular beers are available. A range of refeshments, including delightful 'Velo' coffee - often described as "the best, ever!", inspires regulars to make the short, 5 minute drive from Waihi town centre on a daily basis from Labour Weekend to Easter, when the private gardens are open to the public. Our food, prepared on site, includes now widely renown custard squares. Baguettes, baked daily in the garden cafe, are filled with mouth-watering fillings, including streaky bacon, avocado, tomato, greens and green goddess dressing, or salmon, smoked on site. Creamy asparagus, mushroom and tomato quiche, county-baked sausage and vege roll, or a side-salad are popular choices from the fresh and delicious range of foods available. For the seriously decadent, a platter with site-smoked salmon, freshly baked breads, crostinis, home-made chutneys, hummus, dips and cheeses has had endless outstanding comments.
